2010 BIP User Needs Survey

In order to monitor the Partnerships effectiveness in awareness raising and communication the 2010 BIP Secretariat will conduct three user needs surveys from 2008 to early 2011. The surveys will be used to assess different aspects of the Partnership and develop action points for improvement. The ‘series’ of surveys will enable the Secretariat to access progress over time and whether actions taken are resulting in improvements in increasing knowledge and understanding of the Partnership within the global conservation community.

Results: 2nd User Needs Survey

The BIP conducted its second user needs survey from July-November 2010. The survey provided an opportunity for respondents to comment specifically on the functionality of the Partnerships two websites. A substantial number of participants took part in the survey (519) from a broad range of countries.

Results: 1st User Needs Survey (2008-2009)

The results of the 2009 2010 BIP User Needs Survey are now available to view online. The User Needs Survey generated global interest, with 398 respondents from 87 countries taking part. The  Survey provided an opportunity for the Partnership to gain public opinion on both the usability of the 2010 BIP as well as suggested improvements. Review of the responses has lead to the generation of a number of action points for the 2010 BIP which will help to improve the delivery of the biodiversity indicators over the next year in the run up to the 10th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP 10).
